About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and technically proficient Telecoms Field Service Engineer to serve the Birmingham area. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment at customer sites. You will be the face of our client, providing exceptional technical support and ensuring the seamless operation of critical communication systems for a diverse range of businesses. This role requires a self-motivated individual with excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality service in a mobile capacity across the West Midlands.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and test telecommunications hardware and software solutions on-site.
- Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on network infrastructure and customer premise equipment.
- Respond promptly to service calls and troubleshoot technical issues efficiently to minimize customer disruption.
- Ensure accurate documentation of all service activities, including site reports and equipment logs.
- Provide basic technical training and support to end-users on equipment operation.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company procedures during field operations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer or similar role within the telecoms industry .
- Strong understanding of telecommunications principles, including fibre optics, DSL, and wireless technologies.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and test equipment for fault finding.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly.
- A valid UK driving license and the ability to travel extensively within the assigned region.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet service level agreements.
