About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Telecoms Field Service Engineer to join their team serving the Coventry and West Midlands region. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment and systems at customer sites. You will be the face of the company, providing essential on-site technical support and ensuring customer satisfaction through expert service delivery. The successful candidate will be adept at diagnosing and resolving technical issues efficiently, working independently while adhering to strict safety and quality standards, and contributing to the smooth operation of communication networks across the area.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and commission telecommunications hardware and software solutions at client locations.
- Perform routine maintenance, diagnostic testing, and preventative repairs on network infrastructure.
- Respond promptly to service calls, identifying and resolving technical faults related to connectivity, signal strength, and equipment malfunction.
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard, adhering to company procedures and health and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of service activities, parts used, and time spent on site using mobile device software.
- Provide basic user support and training to clients on the operation of installed equipment.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer or in a similar technical support role within the telecoms industry.
- Strong understanding of telecommunications principles, including fiber optics, copper cabling, and wireless technologies.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and test equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a methodical approach to fault finding.
- Good communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively alone.
- A valid UK driving license and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region.
