Telecoms Field Service Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Telecoms Field Service Technician to join their growing team in Coventry . You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment and infrastructure at customer sites and within our network. This role requires a hands-on approach, excellent technical aptitude, and strong customer service skills to ensure client satisfaction. You will play a crucial part in maintaining the high standards of service and reliability that our clients depend on within the fast-paced telecoms industry .

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and test telecommunications equipment, including routers, switches, fibre optic cables, and mobile base stations.
• Perform routine maintenance and diagnostic checks on network infrastructure to prevent failures and ensure optimal performance.
• Respond promptly to service calls and troubleshoot technical issues on-site, providing effective and efficient solutions.
• Repair or replace faulty equipment and components, ensuring all work is completed to industry standards.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including site reports, equipment logs, and time sheets.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies while working at customer premises and on network sites.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Field Service Technician or in a similar technical role within the telecoms sector.
• Strong understanding of telecommunications principles, including fibre optics, copper cabling, and wireless technologies.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and test equipment for network analysis and repair.
• Excellent practical skills in installation, termination, and splicing of cables.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients.
• A full UK driving licence is essential for site visits in and around Coventry .
