About the Role
Our client is looking for a diligent and hands-on Telecoms Installation Engineer to join their operational team in Southampton . This role involves the physical installation, testing, and commissioning of telecommunications infrastructure, including fibre optics, network cabling, and associated equipment. You will be responsible for ensuring installations meet stringent quality standards and client specifications. This is a practical, field-based position for an individual who is comfortable working on-site, possesses strong technical aptitude, and is committed to delivering high-quality network infrastructure solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and terminate fibre optic cables and associated network hardware.
- Configure and test telecommunications equipment, including routers, switches, and base stations.
- Perform site surveys to determine optimal installation routes and requirements.
- Ensure all installations comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and client specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues encountered during the installation and commissioning process.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work, including test results and as-built drawings.
Requirements
- Experience in telecoms installation , fibre optics, or related network engineering.
- Proficiency with installation tools and testing equipment for fibre and copper cabling.
- Knowledge of telecommunications network components and infrastructure.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Good physical condition, capable of working at heights or in confined spaces as required.
