Telecoms Installation Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent Telecoms Installation Engineer to join their team in Sunderland . This role focuses on the physical installation and commissioning of telecommunications equipment at customer premises and network sites. You will be responsible for ensuring all installations meet quality standards and technical specifications, working both independently and as part of a team. This position is essential for maintaining and expanding the client's network footprint across Tyne and Wear , requiring a hands-on approach and a commitment to excellent workmanship in the telecoms field .

Key Responsibilities

• Install and configure telecommunications hardware, including routers, switches, antennas, and cabling.
• Perform system testing and commissioning to verify functionality and performance.
• Diagnose and resolve installation-related issues promptly.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Ensure installations are completed safely, tidily, and in line with company standards.
• Provide basic user support and handover documentation upon completion of installations.

Requirements

• Experience in telecommunications installation or a related technical field.
• Familiarity with various types of telecom equipment and installation techniques.
• Good understanding of basic electrical and network principles.
• Ability to work effectively at heights and in various environmental conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Possession of a full UK driving license is essential for travel to sites around Sunderland .
