Telecoms Installation Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Telecoms Installation Technician to join their growing team in the Brighton area. This hands-on role involves the physical installation and setup of telecommunications equipment for residential and business customers. You will be responsible for ensuring that installations are performed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate is practical, technically inclined, and enjoys working directly with customers to provide reliable service, contributing to the company's reputation for excellent service delivery across the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and configure telecommunications hardware, including modems, routers, Wi-Fi access points, and other customer premise equipment (CPE).
• Run and terminate fibre optic and copper cabling according to industry standards.
• Test installed equipment and network connections to ensure optimal performance and service activation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic installation-related issues on-site.
• Educate customers on the use of their new equipment and services.
• Maintain accurate installation records and inventory management.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a similar installation or technical support role, preferably in telecoms or IT.
• Knowledge of broadband technologies and home networking.
• Familiarity with installation tools and techniques for cabling and equipment mounting.
• Ability to interpret technical diagrams and installation manuals.
• Strong customer service skills and a professional demeanour.
• Physical ability to perform installations, including working at heights or in confined spaces when required.
