About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and proactive Telecoms Network Administrator to manage and maintain their core network infrastructure at their facility in Sheffield . This hands-on role is critical for ensuring the day-to-day operational health, security, and performance of the company's telecommunications systems. You will be responsible for system installations, configuration, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance. Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software, including routers, switches, servers, and firewalls.
• Monitor network performance, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions to ensure optimal uptime.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls for network resources.
• Perform regular system backups and disaster recovery planning.
• Respond to network alerts and troubleshoot technical issues promptly and efficiently.

Requirements

• Associate's degree or equivalent certification in Information Technology, Computer Networking, or a related field.
• 2-4 years of experience as a Network Administrator or in a similar role, preferably within the telecoms industry .
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols, hardware, and operating systems.
• Experience with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting techniques.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and network security principles.
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
