About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous and skilled Telecoms Network Administrator to manage and maintain their network infrastructure in Portsmouth . This role is critical for ensuring the day-to-day operational efficiency and reliability of our telecommunications systems. You will be responsible for monitoring network performance, implementing upgrades, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining network security. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical aptitude, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of network integrity within the Hampshire region.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain the company's telecommunications network , including LAN, WAN, and Wi-Fi infrastructure.
- Monitor network performance and security, responding promptly to alerts and incidents.
- Perform routine maintenance, updates, and upgrades on network hardware and software.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity and performance issues for users.
- Implement and enforce network security policies and procedures to protect company data.
- Manage network device configurations and maintain accurate network documentation.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Network Administrator or in a similar network support role.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and hardware.
- Experience with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting techniques.
- Familiarity with network security best practices and firewalls.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a structured environment.
- Good communication skills and the ability to document technical procedures effectively.
