About the Role
Our client is seeking a diligent Telecoms Network Administrator to manage and maintain their network infrastructure in Norwich . This hybrid role involves hands-on system administration, monitoring, and support, with opportunities for remote work. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, security, and efficiency of the company's telecommunications network. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and possesses a solid understanding of network administration principles, contributing to a reliable and secure communication environment for our client.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Monitor network performance and availability, implementing proactive measures to prevent outages.
- Respond to network alerts and incidents, diagnosing and resolving technical issues efficiently.
- Implement and manage network security policies and procedures.
- Perform regular backups and disaster recovery planning for network systems.
- Assist with network upgrades, patching, and configuration changes.
Requirements
- Previous experience in network administration or a related IT support role, preferably in telecoms .
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies.
- Experience with network monitoring tools and network management systems.
- Proficiency in operating systems (Windows Server, Linux) and network device configurations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment, both on-site and remotely.
