Telecoms Network Architect

About the Role

Our client is seeking an innovative and strategic Telecoms Network Architect to join their team in Reading . This senior role is responsible for the high-level design and strategic planning of the company's telecommunications network infrastructure. You will define the future roadmap for our network, ensuring it meets evolving business needs, incorporates emerging technologies, and maintains exceptional performance and scalability. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and document comprehensive network architecture designs, roadmaps, and strategies for the telecoms network .
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions to enhance network capabilities, performance, and efficiency.
• Lead the technical design of complex network projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and security teams to ensure successful implementation of architectural designs.
• Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to network engineers and other technical staff.
• Analyze network traffic patterns and performance metrics to identify areas for architectural improvement.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent extensive experience.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in network engineering and architecture, with a strong focus on telecommunications .
• Deep understanding of core networking concepts, including routing, switching, firewalls, load balancing, and VPNs.
• Proven experience designing and implementing large-scale, resilient, and high-performance networks.
• Familiarity with cloud networking, SDN, NFV, and other modern network paradigms.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
