Telecoms Network Architect

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Telecoms Network Architect to lead the design and evolution of their advanced communication networks in Derby, Derbyshire . This senior role involves creating comprehensive blueprints for network infrastructure, ensuring scalability, resilience, and performance to meet future demands. You will collaborate with stakeholders across the business to define technical strategies and roadmaps, playing a key part in shaping the future of connectivity. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of current and emerging telecoms technologies and a proven track record in architecting complex network solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-level and low-level network architectures for voice, data, and video services.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions to enhance network capabilities and efficiency.
• Define network standards, policies, and procedures to ensure consistency and quality across deployments.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to ensure successful implementation of architectural designs.
• Conduct technical feasibility studies and provide expert advice on complex network challenges.
• Ensure architectures are designed with security, scalability, and cost-effectiveness in mind for the Derby region.

Requirements

• Extensive experience as a Network Architect or senior network design engineer in the telecoms industry.
• In-depth knowledge of IP networking, routing protocols, SDN, NFV, and cloud integration.
• Experience with designing solutions for mobile networks (4G/5G), enterprise networks, and service provider infrastructure.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities, capable of engaging with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Relevant professional certifications such as CCIE, JNCIE, or equivalent are highly advantageous.
