About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled Telecoms Network Engineer to join their expanding team in Bristol . This role is integral to maintaining and enhancing the company's telecommunications infrastructure, ensuring reliable and high-performance connectivity for its users. You will be involved in the design, implementation, and ongoing support of the network. Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software components, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues to ensure optimal uptime and efficiency.
- Implement network security measures and protocols to protect data and systems.
- Collaborate with other IT teams on infrastructure projects, upgrades, and new deployments.
- Develop and maintain detailed network documentation, including diagrams and configuration guides.
- Respond to and resolve network-related incidents and service requests in a timely manner.
- Research and recommend network enhancements and new technologies to improve performance and security.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a telecoms network engineering role.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), and VPN technologies.
- Hands-on experience with network hardware from major vendors.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools and performance analysis.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA or equivalent practical experience are a plus.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
