About the Role
Our client is seeking a hands-on Telecoms Network Infrastructure Specialist to join their dedicated technical team in Oxford . This role is crucial for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of the company's robust telecommunications network infrastructure. You will be responsible for ensuring the physical and logical integrity of network components, diagnosing and resolving hardware and configuration issues, and contributing to the overall reliability of our services. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with practical experience in network hardware and cabling.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain network hardware, including routers, switches, and access points.
- Manage and troubleshoot network cabling infrastructure, ensuring optimal connectivity.
- Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on network equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware-related network issues, coordinating with vendors when necessary.
- Monitor network infrastructure health and performance.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of network infrastructure changes and expansions.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Network Infrastructure Specialist or similar role in a telecoms environment.
- Strong knowledge of network hardware, including installation and configuration.
- Proficiency in network cabling standards and practices (e.g., Cat5e, Cat6, fibre optic termination).
- Experience with network monitoring tools and diagnostic procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to resolve technical challenges.
