About the Role
Our client is seeking a vigilant and skilled Telecoms Network Operations Centre (NOC) Analyst to monitor and maintain the integrity of their network infrastructure in the Nottingham area. In this critical role, you will be responsible for proactive network monitoring, rapid incident detection, and effective response to ensure minimal disruption to services. You will work collaboratively with engineering and support teams to resolve issues and maintain high levels of network availability and performance. This position is ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail and a passion for ensuring seamless connectivity in the fast-paced telecoms industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor network performance, availability, and security using specialized NOC tools.
- Identify, diagnose, and respond to network incidents and alerts in a timely manner.
- Perform initial troubleshooting and escalate unresolved issues to appropriate technical teams.
- Document all network events, actions taken, and resolutions in the incident management system.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of NOC procedures and best practices.
- Provide shift handover and ensure continuity of operations.
Requirements
- Experience working in a Network Operations Centre (NOC) or similar IT support environment.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, SolarWinds) and ticketing systems.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, and routing.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, as required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills under pressure.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
