Telecoms Network Operations Centre (NOC) Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a vigilant and proactive Telecoms Network Operations Centre (NOC) Analyst to join their monitoring team in Southampton . This critical role involves the real-time monitoring of network infrastructure, identification of potential issues, and initiation of incident response procedures to ensure uninterrupted service delivery. You will be working within a shift pattern to provide 24/7 coverage, ensuring the stability and performance of our client's extensive telecommunications network. This hybrid position allows for a combination of on-site presence and remote work, offering excellent flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor network performance and availability using sophisticated NOC tools and dashboards.
• Detect, diagnose, and escalate network incidents and outages according to established procedures.
• Respond to alerts, troubleshoot common issues, and perform initial corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate incident logs and provide detailed reports on network status and events.
• Liaise with field engineers and other technical teams to resolve complex network problems.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of monitoring processes and operational procedures.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a Network Operations Centre or similar IT support role.
• Good understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Familiarity with monitoring software and ticketing systems.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and make quick, informed decisions.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Willingness to work shifts, including nights and weekends, as part of a rotational schedule.
