About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Telecoms Network Operations Manager to lead their network operations centre (NOC) in Derby . This role adopts a hybrid work model , combining essential on-site presence with the flexibility of remote working. You will be responsible for ensuring the continuous availability, performance, and security of the company's telecommunications network infrastructure. Leading a team of skilled engineers, you will oversee incident management, problem resolution, change management, and performance monitoring to uphold the highest service levels in the critical telecoms operations environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of network operations engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the network, ensuring high availability and optimal performance of all network services.
- Develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures for incident, problem, and change management.
- Monitor network performance and proactively identify potential issues, implementing preventative measures.
- Manage relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure efficient and effective support.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the NOC to enhance operational efficiency and service quality.
Requirements
- Significant experience in telecoms network operations , with proven leadership and team management skills.
- In-depth understanding of network protocols, monitoring tools, and network security principles.
- Experience managing large-scale, mission-critical networks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a calm and decisive approach under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, essential for collaboration in a hybrid setting .
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
