About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive Telecoms Network Operations Manager to lead their dedicated network operations center (NOC) team. This is a fully remote position, enabling you to manage operations effectively from anywhere within the UK . You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of the telecommunications network, ensuring its stability, availability, and performance. This role requires a strong leader with a deep understanding of network operations, incident management, and team leadership in a remote-first setting. You will play a key role in driving operational excellence and continuous improvement within the NOC.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of network operations engineers, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Oversee the monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolution of network incidents and outages to minimize service disruption.
- Develop and implement operational procedures, standards, and best practices for network management and maintenance.
- Manage capacity planning, performance tuning, and proactive maintenance activities for the telecommunications network.
- Coordinate with other departments, including engineering and customer support, to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the NOC, leveraging performance metrics and feedback.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in telecommunications network operations, with at least 2 years in a management or team lead role.
- Proven experience with network monitoring tools, incident management systems, and ITIL frameworks.
- Strong understanding of core networking principles, protocols, and technologies used in telecoms.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a remote team, fostering collaboration and accountability.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills, crucial for managing operations remotely.
