About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced Telecoms Network Operations Manager to lead and manage their network operations centre (NOC) team based in or near Milton Keynes . This strategic role is responsible for the day-to-day monitoring, maintenance, and performance optimization of the company's extensive telecommunications network. You will ensure the highest levels of service availability and reliability, manage incident response, and drive operational excellence through process improvement and team development. This is a key leadership position within the telecoms organisation, offering the chance to shape the future of network operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the operations of the Network Operations Centre (NOC), ensuring continuous monitoring and proactive management of the telecoms network .
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of NOC engineers and technicians, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Develop and implement operational procedures and best practices for incident management, problem resolution, and change control.
- Manage service level agreements (SLAs) and ensure network performance meets or exceeds defined targets.
- Collaborate with engineering, deployment, and customer support teams to resolve complex network issues and ensure seamless service delivery.
- Implement and manage network monitoring tools and systems to provide comprehensive visibility into network health and performance across Milton Keynes and beyond.
Requirements
- Significant experience in network operations management within the telecommunications industry .
- Demonstrated leadership experience, with a proven ability to manage and motivate technical teams.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, technologies (e.g., MPLS, DWDM, Ethernet), and network architecture.
- Expertise in incident management, root cause analysis, and performance optimisation techniques.
- Experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG).
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, essential for managing operations in Buckinghamshire .
