About the Role

Our client is looking for a strategic Telecoms Network Planner to contribute to the future growth of their infrastructure in Edinburgh . This role involves long-term planning, capacity management, and the architectural design of the company's telecommunications network. You will analyze network trends, forecast future demands, and develop strategic plans to ensure the network can support evolving business needs and technological advancements. This hybrid position is based in Scotland's capital , offering a blend of office-based collaboration and remote flexibility for the right candidate, contributing to the cutting-edge development within the telecom sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop long-term network growth and capacity plans based on business forecasts and market trends.
• Design high-level network architectures and solutions to meet future service requirements.
• Analyze network traffic patterns and performance data to identify areas for improvement.
• Evaluate new technologies and vendor solutions for potential integration into the network.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure planned solutions are feasible and cost-effective.
• Create detailed network diagrams and technical documentation for strategic planning purposes.

Requirements

• Experience in network planning, design, or architecture within the telecommunications industry.
• Strong understanding of network technologies, including fiber optics , 5G, and cloud networking.
• Proficiency in network modelling and simulation tools.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Relevant degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
