Our client is seeking a meticulous Telecoms Network Planner to join their strategic planning team in Oxford . This role is integral to forecasting future network requirements and developing detailed plans for network expansion and optimisation. You will analyse network capacity, traffic patterns, and technological trends to ensure our infrastructure can meet future demands efficiently and cost-effectively. This position is ideal for an analytical individual with a strong understanding of telecommunications networks and excellent planning and forecasting skills, who wishes to contribute to the strategic growth of a leading company.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse current network usage, capacity, and performance data to identify future needs.
- Develop long-term network expansion and upgrade plans, including fibre rollouts and capacity increases.
- Create detailed network designs and deployment schedules for new infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and finance teams to ensure plans are technically feasible and economically viable.
- Research and evaluate new network technologies and their potential impact on future planning.
- Prepare reports and presentations on network growth forecasts and strategic recommendations.
Requirements
- Experience in network planning, capacity management, or a similar role within the telecommunications industry.
- Strong understanding of network architecture, including fibre optics, wireless, and IP networking.
- Proficiency in network planning tools and software, and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable plans.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage with various stakeholders.
- Relevant degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
