About the Role

Our client is seeking a methodical Telecoms Network Planner to join their team in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, UK . This role is integral to the strategic expansion and optimization of our telecommunications network. You will be responsible for analyzing network capacity, forecasting future demand, and developing detailed plans for network growth and upgrades. This position requires strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of network technologies, and the ability to translate data into actionable network strategies. Working within a dedicated planning department, you will ensure our network infrastructure can meet the growing needs of our customer base, based in Sheffield .

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze current network capacity and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
• Forecast future network traffic and demand based on market trends and customer growth.
• Develop long-term and short-term network expansion and upgrade plans.
• Create detailed network designs and implementation strategies for new infrastructure deployments.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and finance teams to ensure plans are feasible and cost-effective.
• Evaluate new technologies and their potential impact on network planning.
• Prepare reports and presentations to communicate network plans to senior management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in network planning or design within the telecommunications industry.
• Strong understanding of network technologies, including fiber optics, wireless, and IP networking.
• Proficiency in network planning tools and simulation software.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data modeling skills.
