About the Role
Our client is seeking an analytical and detail-oriented Telecoms Network Planner to join their team in Plymouth . This hybrid role allows for a balanced approach to work, combining office-based collaboration with the flexibility of remote work. You will be responsible for planning the expansion and optimization of our client's telecommunications network infrastructure. Your work will involve forecasting demand, assessing network capacity, and developing strategies for future network growth. This position is crucial for ensuring our network can meet future demands efficiently and effectively, working within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop long-term strategic plans for network expansion and upgrades.
- Analyse network performance data and traffic patterns to identify areas for improvement.
- Conduct feasibility studies for new network deployments and technology integrations.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure plans are technically sound and achievable.
- Prepare detailed network designs, including topology maps, capacity forecasts, and equipment requirements.
- Stay informed about industry trends and regulatory changes impacting network planning.
Requirements
- Experience in network planning or network design within the telecommunications industry.
- Strong understanding of network technologies, including fibre optics, mobile networks, and IP networking.
- Proficiency in network modelling and simulation tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to interpret complex technical data and translate it into actionable plans.
- Familiarity with GIS tools for network mapping is a plus.
