About the Role
Our client is seeking a forward-thinking Telecoms Network Planning Engineer to join their team in Sheffield . This role is responsible for the strategic planning and capacity management of the company's telecommunications network infrastructure. You will analyze network traffic trends, forecast future capacity needs, and design network expansion strategies to ensure optimal performance and scalability. This is a critical role for future-proofing the network and supporting business growth in an evolving technological landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop long-term network capacity plans based on traffic analysis and growth forecasts.
- Design network expansion and upgrade strategies, considering new technologies and service demands.
- Analyze network performance data to identify potential bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with network engineering and operations teams to implement planned changes.
- Evaluate new network technologies and their potential impact on future planning.
- Prepare technical documentation and reports for management and relevant stakeholders.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in telecoms network planning or a related engineering role.
- Strong understanding of network capacity planning principles and methodologies.
- Proficiency in analyzing large datasets related to network traffic and performance.
- Knowledge of various telecommunications technologies (e.g., fibre, wireless, IP networking).
- Experience with network simulation or modeling tools is an advantage.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related technical discipline.
