Telecoms Network Security Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a vigilant and proactive Telecoms Network Security Analyst to join their dedicated security team, operating remotely to support networks nationwide, including operations near Nottingham . This role is paramount in protecting our client's telecommunications infrastructure from cyber threats. You will be responsible for monitoring network security, identifying vulnerabilities, responding to security incidents, and implementing robust security measures. This fully remote position offers the chance to contribute to critical security operations from anywhere within the UK.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor network traffic and systems for security breaches, intrusions, and malicious activities.
• Analyze security alerts and logs to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
• Respond to security incidents, conduct forensic investigations, and implement containment and eradication strategies.
• Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures, and controls.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in the network.
• Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.
• Collaborate with network engineering and operations teams to ensure security best practices are integrated into network design and deployment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of experience in network security analysis or a similar cybersecurity role.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPN technologies.
• Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) systems.
• Proficiency in analyzing security logs and performing incident response.
• Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CompTIA Security+, CEH) are highly desirable.
