About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Telecoms Network Technician to join their operations team in Coventry . This role is integral to ensuring the reliability and performance of our client's telecommunications infrastructure. You will be involved in both hands-on technical work and remote monitoring, playing a key part in maintaining network stability and responding to incidents. The successful candidate will possess strong technical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a keen eye for detail, contributing to a team that values efficiency and continuous improvement in the fast-paced telecoms sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor network performance using specialized tools and identify potential issues or outages.
• Perform routine checks and preventative maintenance on network equipment at local sites.
• Respond to network alerts and initiate troubleshooting procedures to restore service quickly.
• Assist senior engineers with the installation and configuration of new network hardware and software.
• Conduct basic network testing and analysis to ensure service quality and adherence to SLAs.
• Provide remote support and guidance to field engineers when required.

Requirements

• Experience in a telecoms or IT support role, with a focus on network operations.
• Familiarity with common networking protocols and hardware (routers, switches, modems).
• Ability to interpret network diagrams and technical documentation.
• Good understanding of broadband technologies and fiber optic principles.
• Willingness to travel to local sites in and around Coventry as needed for hands-on tasks.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
