Telecoms Network Technician

About the Role

Our client is looking for a diligent Telecoms Network Technician to join their team in Coventry . This hybrid role involves both hands-on field work and remote support, focusing on the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications infrastructure. You will play a vital part in ensuring the reliability and performance of network services for a diverse client base. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and possesses a solid understanding of modern communication systems, contributing to a team committed to service excellence and technological advancement.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and commission new telecommunications equipment and services at customer premises.
• Troubleshoot and repair faults on copper and fiber optic networks, utilizing diagnostic equipment.
• Respond to service tickets, resolving technical issues within agreed service level agreements (SLAs).
• Conduct proactive network checks and maintenance to prevent service disruptions.
• Assist with the configuration and testing of network devices remotely and on-site.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, site details, and equipment status.

Requirements

• Experience in a technical support or field service role within the telecoms industry .
• Knowledge of broadband technologies (DSL, FTTH) and networking fundamentals.
• Familiarity with test equipment such as OTDRs and cable testers.
• Good communication skills, able to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively, balancing field and office tasks.
• Must hold a valid UK driving license and be comfortable traveling within the Coventry area.
