About the Role
Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Telecoms Network Technician to support their operations in Edinburgh . This role is fundamental to the daily functioning and maintenance of the company's telecommunications infrastructure. You will be involved in the installation, testing, and troubleshooting of network equipment, ensuring optimal performance and minimal disruption. Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain a variety of telecoms network equipment , including routers, switches, and fibre optic hardware.
- Perform routine system checks, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance to ensure network reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity and equipment issues, escalating complex problems as needed.
- Assist in the deployment of new network infrastructure and upgrades under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Conduct thorough testing of network components and systems post-installation or repair.
- Maintain accurate records of network configurations, maintenance activities, and issue resolution.
Requirements
- HND or equivalent qualification in Telecommunications, Electronics, or a related technical field.
- 1-3 years of experience in a network support or technical role, preferably within telecoms.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts, TCP/IP, and common network protocols.
- Experience with fibre optic cabling and associated testing equipment is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies within the telecoms industry .
