Test & Validation Electrical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a meticulous Test & Validation Electrical Engineer to join their product development team in Reading . This role is essential for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of new electrical products before they reach the market. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and executing comprehensive test plans, analysing results, and providing critical feedback to the design team. This is a hands-on role ideal for an engineer who enjoys problem-solving and ensuring products meet the highest standards of excellence in a dedicated lab environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute detailed test plans and procedures for electrical components and systems.
• Design and build test fixtures and setups required for product validation.
• Conduct functional, performance, environmental, and reliability testing on electrical products.
• Analyse test data, identify failure modes, and document findings and recommendations clearly.
• Collaborate with design engineers to troubleshoot issues and implement design improvements.
• Maintain and calibrate test equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability of results.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical testing, validation, or quality assurance.
• Proficiency with common electrical test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, spectrum analyzers).
• Experience in designing and implementing automated test scripts and systems is a plus.
• Strong understanding of electronic circuits, signal integrity, and power electronics.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to work systematically and accurately.
