Test Engineer - Electrical Systems

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous Test Engineer specializing in Electrical Systems to join their team in Edinburgh . This role is critical for ensuring the quality, reliability, and safety of our client's electrical products and systems through rigorous testing and validation. You will develop and execute comprehensive test plans, analyze results, and provide feedback for design improvements. This position offers a hands-on approach to quality assurance within a dedicated engineering environment at our Edinburgh facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement detailed test plans and procedures for electrical systems and components.
• Set up and operate test equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies.
• Conduct functional, performance, and environmental testing according to specifications.
• Analyze test data, identify defects, and generate detailed test reports.
• Collaborate with design engineers to troubleshoot issues and verify fixes.
• Maintain test equipment and calibration records.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Experience in testing electrical or electronic systems, preferably in a manufacturing or R&D environment.
• Proficiency with common electrical test equipment and data acquisition systems.
• Understanding of test methodologies and documentation standards.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively on-site in Edinburgh .
