Test Support Engineer (Permanent) - Leicestershire - Up to £43,000 (Onsite)
A technology business with advanced test facilities is looking for a hands-on Test Support Engineer to support the safe, reliable and effective running of its laboratories and test rigs. This is a permanent, fully onsite role based in Leicestershire.
The role
You'll be the first point of response for test-rig and lab equipment issues, working closely with a multi-disciplinary engineering team to keep critical test capability running smoothly. Key responsibilities include:
Reacting to test rig / lab process issues and diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults Repairing and resolving issues where possible, and escalating complex problems appropriately Supporting the build of new test rigs and modifications / upgrades to existing equipment Completing routine equipment checks, calibration activity and audits Carrying out planned preventative maintenance on rigs and supporting equipment Helping ensure the lab environment remains safe, compliant and operationally effective
What we're looking for
This suits someone practical, proactive and comfortable working in a hands-on engineering environment. You'll ideally have experience with:
Maintaining equipment in a test or production environment (including electro-mechanical assemblies / test rig systems) Reading and working from mechanical & electrical drawings, schematics and layouts National Instruments control systems (not essential) Working with liquid or gas fuel systems or similar (Not essential) Clear communication and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving across different teams
