Salary: £35-40,000

A respected, well-established planning consultancy in Cambridge is looking to add a Town Planner to its team. The role offers the chance to take on real responsibility across a varied and interesting workload, working alongside experienced colleagues who will support your progression towards chartership and beyond.

The role

Prepare planning statements, appraisals and supporting documents for a range of projects, from straightforward schemes to larger, more complex developments Draft and submit planning applications and appeals, and monitor their progress through to decision Advise clients at every stage of the planning and development process Assess the planning potential of new development opportunities Carry out planning policy research and analysis to support project strategy Contribute to community engagement and consultation activities Attend committee meetings, public examinations, site visits and client meetings Help to shape fee proposals and project scopes

Requirements

A degree in Town Planning or a related subject, ideally RTPI-accredited Previous planning experience, whether in consultancy or the public sector A genuine passion for planning and a proactive, ambitious approach to your career Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent organisation and attention to detail The ability to manage your own caseload and meet deadlines A collaborative attitude and confidence working as part of a team A commitment to working towards chartership, if not already chartered
