Town Planning Technician (Incl. Validations)

Carrington West are assisting their local authority client based in the Midlands in the search for a Planning Support Officer/Validations Officer to join their Town Planning department.

Main responsibilities of the role will include:

• Validating and processing all types of planning applications including checking submissions against national and local check lists and relevant guidance, checking accuracy of the drawings, identifying statutory and non-statutory consultees in compliance with the Council's requirements.
• Providing advice on planning applications. To provide information, guidance and advice as required to applicants, agents and members of the public
• Providing responses to correspondence and telephone enquiries, complaints and E-mails within the Council's Corporate time scales.
• Liaising with officers in development management, planning policy and other departments.
• Undertaking other duties and responsibilities of a similar nature and of a similar responsibility to those described above, which may be allocated from time to time and to provide cover for absent team members.
