Trainee Plasterer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a committed and hands-on individual to join them as a Trainee Plasterer in Wolverhampton . This apprenticeship provides a solid grounding in the essential skills of plastering and drylining. You will learn the techniques for preparing surfaces, mixing plaster, and applying finishes to walls and ceilings to a high standard. Working closely with experienced tradespeople, you will gain practical knowledge and develop the expertise needed for a successful career in the construction industry, contributing to various building and renovation projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing surfaces for plastering, including cleaning and applying bonding agents.
• Learn to mix plastering materials to the correct consistency.
• Apply plaster coats to walls and ceilings using trowels and other tools.
• Achieve smooth and level finishes, ready for decoration.
• Perform basic drylining tasks, such as fitting plasterboard.
• Maintain tools and equipment, and ensure the work area is kept clean and safe.

Requirements

• A strong interest in construction trades and practical work.
• Good physical stamina and manual dexterity.
• Ability to follow instructions accurately and pay attention to detail.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Willingness to learn new techniques and work as part of a team.
• Minimum of 3 GCSEs or equivalent, with Maths being beneficial.
