They are looking for a motivated and hands-on Trainee Wood Machinist to join their team, with full training provided to develop the skills and knowledge required to become a skilled Wood Machinist through their in-house structured training programme.

As a Trainee Wood Machinist, you will learn how to prepare, machine, and shape timber and manufactured board materials to precise specifications, using a range of woodworking machinery and hand tools under the guidance of experienced craftsmen.
What is Wood Machining?
Wood machining is the process of cutting, shaping, and preparing timber and board materials using specialist woodworking machinery. This can include operations such as sawing, planing, routing, moulding, drilling, and machining components to accurate measurements.
Wood machinists play an important role in producing high-quality components for bespoke furniture, interiors, joinery, and specialist fit-out projects.
Key Responsibilities
Learn and assist with woodworking and machining processes under skilled craftsmen Prepare timber, sheet materials, and other woodworking materials for machining Measure and mark materials accurately according to drawings and specifications Learn to safely operate a range of woodworking machinery and hand tools Assist with cutting, shaping, drilling, routing, planing, and moulding timber components Follow technical drawings, measurements, and instructions Carry out quality checks to ensure components meet required standards Assist with setting up machinery and preparing materials for production Maintain tools, machinery, and the work area in a clean and safe condition Follow all company health and safety procedures Work as part of a skilled manufacturing team to meet production requirements
About You
Interest in woodworking, manufacturing, or craftsmanship Good attention to detail and an ability to work accurately Practical, hands-on approach Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills Ability to follow instructions and work safely Good understanding of basic measurements and dimensions Reliable, punctual, and motivated Ability to work effectively as part of a teamNo previous woodworking or machining experience is required - full training will be provided.
Previous experience using hand tools, woodworking tools, machinery, or working in a practical environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
