About the Role

Our client is seeking a methodical and detail-oriented Transport Planner to join their established team in Cambridge . This role is essential for ensuring that all deliveries are scheduled efficiently, cost-effectively, and within the required timeframes. You will be responsible for optimising delivery routes, managing driver schedules, and utilising transport management software to maintain high operational standards. The successful candidate will possess a strong aptitude for problem-solving and a clear understanding of logistics principles to support the company's transportation network.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and optimise delivery routes for a fleet of vehicles, considering factors such as time windows, traffic, and vehicle capacity.
• Schedule drivers and vehicles to ensure efficient resource utilisation and adherence to working hour regulations.
• Utilise transport management software (TMS) to create, monitor, and update delivery schedules.
• Communicate effectively with drivers to provide route instructions, updates, and support.
• Respond to changes in schedules or unexpected disruptions, making necessary adjustments to minimise impact.
• Maintain accurate records of planned routes, delivery times, and any deviations.

Requirements
