About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Transport Planner to join their team, operating remotely and supporting their operations based out of Brighton . This role is pivotal in optimizing delivery routes, scheduling vehicle movements, and ensuring the efficient and cost-effective transportation of goods across the UK. You will leverage planning software and your logistical expertise to manage daily transport operations, troubleshoot issues, and communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal stakeholders. The successful candidate will be highly organized, analytical, and adept at managing complex logistics schedules from a remote setting.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and schedule daily delivery routes for a fleet of vehicles to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
Utilize transport management software (TMS) to optimize routes, load planning, and driver schedules.
Monitor vehicle progress and address any delays or issues that arise during transit.
Communicate effectively with drivers, providing clear instructions and support.
Liaise with customers to confirm delivery times and resolve any transport-related queries.
Analyze transport performance data to identify areas for improvement and cost savings.

Requirements

Proven experience in transport planning or logistics coordination.
Proficiency in using transport planning software and route optimization tools.
Strong understanding of UK road networks and transport regulations.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, suitable for remote work.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively under pressure.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical capabilities.
