About the Role
Our client is seeking an analytical and detail-oriented Transport Planner to join their operations team in Wolverhampton . This role is crucial for optimizing the company's transport network, ensuring efficient routing, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet delivery targets and customer demands. You will work closely with drivers, warehouse staff, and customer service teams to manage the flow of goods effectively. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and optimize daily delivery routes and schedules for the fleet operating in the Wolverhampton area and beyond.
- Assign vehicles and drivers to specific routes, ensuring compliance with regulations and operational constraints.
- Utilize transport management systems (TMS) and routing software to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
- Monitor delivery progress in real-time, proactively addressing any delays or issues.
- Liaise with warehouse operations to coordinate loading schedules and ensure timely dispatch.
- Analyze transport data to identify trends and recommend improvements for future planning.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Transport Planner or in a similar logistics coordination role.
- Proficiency with transport management software and routing optimization tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to coordinate effectively with various teams.
- Knowledge of UK transport regulations and Working Time Directive.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively in a hybrid setup.
