About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled and organized Transport Planner to join their logistics team in Stoke-on-Trent . This role is crucial for optimizing delivery routes, managing vehicle schedules, and ensuring the efficient movement of goods. Working within a hybrid model, you will balance office-based planning with the flexibility of remote work. You will be responsible for coordinating with drivers, managing fleet resources, and resolving any transport-related issues to meet delivery targets and maintain high levels of customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule daily delivery routes to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
• Coordinate with drivers and warehouse staff to ensure smooth execution of transport operations.
• Manage vehicle allocations and monitor fleet performance and maintenance schedules.
• Resolve transport issues and disruptions in a timely and effective manner.
• Maintain accurate records of transport activities, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant transport regulations and company policies.

Requirements

• Experience in transport planning , logistics coordination, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of UK road networks and transportation regulations.
• Proficiency in transport management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively in a dynamic environment.
