Our client is seeking an experienced Transportation Civil Engineer to join their practice in Plymouth . This role is focused on the planning, design, and implementation of transportation infrastructure, including roads, highways, and public transport networks. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop road layouts, junction improvements, and traffic management schemes.
- Conduct traffic modeling and analysis to predict traffic flows and assess the impact of developments.
- Prepare technical specifications, drawings, and reports for transportation projects.
- Coordinate with local authorities and highways agencies to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
- Oversee construction phases, providing technical support and ensuring adherence to design intent.
- Contribute to the planning and design of sustainable transport options, including cycling and pedestrian infrastructure.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related transportation discipline.
- Proven experience in transportation engineering, including road design and traffic analysis.
- Proficiency in traffic modeling software (e.g., VISSIM , SIDRA) and CAD packages.
- Strong understanding of DMRB (Design Manual for Roads and Bridges) and other relevant standards.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and project management skills.
- Experience in public consultation and stakeholder engagement is advantageous.
