Transportation Engineer - Network Planning

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Transportation Engineer to join their planning team in Liverpool . This role is crucial for developing and implementing strategies to improve urban transportation networks, focusing on traffic flow, public transport integration, and active travel initiatives. You will conduct traffic impact assessments, develop network models, and provide expert advice to local authorities and developers. Key Responsibilities

• Undertake traffic impact assessments and transport studies for new development proposals.
• Develop and model transportation networks using software such as PTV Vissim or Aimsun.
• Prepare Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, and road safety audit reports.
• Advise on public transport infrastructure improvements and active travel schemes.
• Collaborate with planning authorities, developers, and stakeholders to deliver effective transport solutions.
• Contribute to the development of local transport plans and strategies.

Requirements

• Degree in Transportation Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in transportation planning and engineering.
• Proficiency in traffic modeling software and junction design software.
• Strong understanding of transport planning principles, policies, and guidance (e.g., Manual for Streets, LTN 1/20).
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage projects and work collaboratively within a team.
