Transportation Engineer - Road Design

About the Role

This role involves the planning, design, and implementation of road infrastructure projects, aiming to improve traffic flow, safety, and accessibility. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop highway schemes, including road layouts, junctions, and traffic management plans.
• Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and design reports using industry-standard software.
• Conduct traffic analysis, capacity assessments, and feasibility studies for new road projects.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant national and local planning policies and design standards (e.g., DMRB).
• Collaborate with clients, local authorities, and contractors to deliver projects efficiently.
• Contribute to sustainable transport initiatives and the integration of active travel routes.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related transportation discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years' experience in highway and transportation engineering design.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and traffic modelling tools.
• Strong understanding of highway design principles, traffic engineering, and road safety.
• Experience with public procurement processes and contract administration is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client and stakeholder engagement.
