About the Role
Our client is seeking a dynamic Transportation Engineer to join their team in Liverpool , focusing on traffic management, highway design, and transportation planning. This role is essential for improving the flow of traffic, enhancing road safety, and developing sustainable transport solutions for the Merseyside region. You will work on a variety of projects, from local road improvements to strategic transport assessments. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of traffic engineering principles and a passion for creating efficient and safe transportation networks.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake traffic modeling and analysis to assess network performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Design highway schemes, including junction improvements, road realignments, and pedestrian/cycle facilities.
- Develop traffic management plans for construction sites and special events.
- Conduct road safety audits and propose mitigation measures to reduce accident rates.
- Prepare technical reports, design drawings, and specifications for transportation projects.
- Consult with local authorities, developers, and the public on transportation-related matters.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in traffic engineering and highway design.
- Proficiency in traffic modeling software (e.g., VISSIM, SIDRA INTERSECTION) and design software (e.g., AutoCAD).
- Good knowledge of highway design standards and traffic control principles.
- Experience in conducting traffic impact assessments and safety audits.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent report writing capabilities.
