Trusts and Foundations Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and persuasive Trusts and Foundations Officer to join their fundraising team in Oxford . This role is critical for securing grant funding from charitable trusts and foundations, playing a key part in supporting the organisation's vital services. You will be responsible for researching prospective funders, developing compelling applications, and ensuring excellent stewardship of grant-making relationships. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of written English, excellent research skills, and a passion for articulating the impact of the charity's work to potential funders.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and identify potential trusts and foundations that align with the charity's objectives in Oxford and nationally.
• Develop high-quality, persuasive grant applications and proposals tailored to each funder's requirements.
• Manage the full grant application cycle, including monitoring deadlines and submission requirements.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with programme staff at trusts and foundations.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting on grant expenditure and outcomes as required by funders.
• Maintain a comprehensive database of trusts and foundations, including funding history and contacts.
• Contribute to the development of the overall trusts and foundations fundraising strategy.

Requirements

• Proven experience in trusts and foundations fundraising or grant writing, preferably within the charity sector.
• Demonstrated success in securing grant funding from a range of trusts and foundations.
• Exceptional written communication, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Strong research skills and the ability to analyse funding criteria effectively.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with fundraising databases is advantageous.
