Location: Newcastle upon Tyne Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:00am to 4:00pm | Friday, 8:00am to 3:30pm Salary: £14.62 an hour Contract: Full Time, Temporary
About the Role
CER are seeking a highly organised and proactive Administrator & Tutor Support Assistant to provide dedicated support to a tutor within a busy sixth form environment.
This is a varied and rewarding role combining administration, technology support, and practical assistance. You will play a key role in ensuring the tutor can effectively deliver lessons, support students, and manage their daily workload.
The ideal candidate will have excellent administrative skills, strong attention to detail, and a positive, supportive attitude. Previous experience within education is advantageous but not essential.
Key Responsibilities
Provide support during tutor sessions, one-to-one meetings with students and parents, and sixth form open evenings and events. Assist with the use of accessibility software and technology to support teaching and administrative activities. Take notes and create, format, and update documents as required. Manage daily emails, correspondence, and general administration. Prepare teaching materials, resources, and documentation. Coordinate schedules, appointments, and diary management. Safely guide and support the tutor around the building and campus. Liaise and collaborate with teaching and support staff to ensure an effective and inclusive learning environment. Provide general administrative support to facilitate the smooth running of the tutor's day-to-day activities.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Previous administration experience. Excellent organisational and time management skills. Strong written and verbal communication abilities. Competent with Microsoft Office and general IT systems. Ability to work independently and prioritise competing demands. Professional, reliable, and adaptable approach. High level of discretion and confidentiality.
Desirable
Experience working within an educational setting. Knowledge of accessibility tools or assistive technology. Experience supporting individuals with visual impairments.
