Upstream Operations Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Upstream Operations Manager to lead their remote operational team. This senior leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of upstream oil and gas production operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and profitability. You will manage a geographically dispersed team of engineers and field personnel, develop strategic operational plans, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will be instrumental in maximizing asset value and maintaining operational excellence across all managed fields, working from any approved location within the UK .

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day management of upstream production operations, including well integrity, facility maintenance, and production optimization.
• Develop and implement strategic operational plans, budgets, and performance targets.
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing remote operations team.
• Manage relationships with contractors, service providers, and regulatory bodies.
• Implement best practices and new technologies to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline; Master's degree or MBA preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in upstream oil and gas operations, with at least 5 years in a management or supervisory role.
• Proven track record of managing complex production operations and diverse teams remotely.
• Strong understanding of reservoir management, production technology, and facility engineering.
• Excellent leadership, strategic planning, and communication skills.
