Urban Design Lead

About the Role

Our client is looking for an accomplished Urban Design Lead to shape the future of communities and urban environments from their office in Sheffield . This strategic role involves leading the design and planning of large-scale urban regeneration projects, master planning initiatives, and public realm enhancements. You will collaborate with local authorities, developers, and communities to create vibrant, sustainable, and people-centered places. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the conceptualization and development of urban design strategies and master plans for significant development projects.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams, including architects, landscape architects, engineers, and planners.
• Engage with stakeholders, including local government, community groups, and private developers, to build consensus and support.
• Ensure designs promote sustainability, social equity, economic vitality, and place-making principles.

Requirements

• A Master's degree in Urban Design, Architecture, Planning, or a related discipline.
• Significant experience (10+ years) in urban design leadership and project delivery.
• Proven track record of successfully leading complex urban regeneration and master planning projects.
• Strong understanding of urban planning policy, development processes, and design best practices.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in relevant design and visualization software.
