The Role

We're looking for a detail-oriented and commercially minded Motor Operations Vehicle Specialist to take day-to-day responsibility for key elements of our vehicle asset lifecycle.

Working closely with the Motor Operations Vehicle Manager, you'll coordinate vehicle movements, manage operational data and MI, work with external suppliers and oversee end-of-contract activity from collection through to remarketing and disposal. You'll use your expertise to identify risks, resolve operational issues, improve supplier performance and help protect asset value, while ensuring our processes support fair customer outcomes and meet governance and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the accuracy and completeness of vehicle asset records, including vehicle location, condition, status, costs, stock and sale/disposal outcomes.
• Produce, reconcile and interpret MI covering vehicle pipelines, stock, exceptions, costs, cycle times and supplier performance, identifying trends and driving corrective action.
• Coordinate vehicle movements across collection, transport, storage, de-fleet, refurbishment and remarketing, ensuring full traceability through to disposal.
• Monitor operational exceptions such as missing vehicles, aged stock, delays, documentation gaps and supplier failures, progressing issues through to resolution and escalating where required.
• Manage day-to-day supplier performance, monitoring SLAs and KPIs, challenging service failures and identifying opportunities to improve cost, efficiency and customer outcomes.
• Maintain robust governance and audit records, identifying control weaknesses, financial leakage and risks that could impact customers, regulatory compliance or asset value.

Skills & Attributes

• Practical experience in motor operations, vehicle asset management, supplier coordination, remarketing, end-of-contract processing or a comparable regulated operational environment.
• Strong analytical skills and confident Excel user, with the ability to reconcile data, interpret trends, challenge data quality and produce meaningful MI.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, operational queues and exceptions while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
• Confident communicator with the ability to challenge, influence and escalat
• Good understanding of the vehicle asset lifecycle , including collection, storage, refurbishment, remarketing, stock management and disposal.
• Commercially aware, with the ability to identify cost leakage, operational inefficiencies, financial risk and opportunities to improve asset performance.
