About the Role
Our client seeks a meticulous and detail-oriented Vehicle Damage Assessor to join their team remotely, with occasional site visits required, primarily serving the Sunderland region. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately assessing vehicle damage, preparing detailed repair estimates, and liaising with customers, repairers, and insurance companies. Your expertise will ensure fair and accurate claims processing and contribute to efficient resolution of vehicle repair claims. This is an ideal position for an individual with a strong understanding of automotive repair processes and excellent assessment skills, working independently but as a key part of a national claims team, operating from the Sunderland area.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough visual inspections of damaged vehicles to determine the extent of repairs needed.
- Prepare comprehensive and accurate repair cost estimates using estimating software.
- Document findings with clear photographic evidence and detailed written reports.
- Communicate effectively with policyholders, repair centres, and insurers to explain assessments and estimates.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements for damage assessment.
Requirements
- Previous experience in vehicle damage assessment, body repair estimating, or a related automotive role.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle construction, repair methods, and parts pricing.
- Proficiency in using estimating software (e.g., Audatex, GlassMatix) is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective liaison with various stakeholders.
