Venue Operations Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Venue Operations Manager to oversee the efficient and effective operation of their event spaces in Cambridge . This hybrid role requires a strong on-site presence to manage facilities, staff, and event execution, complemented by remote responsibilities for strategic planning, budgeting, and stakeholder communication. You will ensure that the venue consistently delivers high-quality experiences for all clients and visitors. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of venue management, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage complex operations in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the venue, including facilities, maintenance, and security.
• Oversee event setups, technical requirements, and on-site execution to ensure seamless delivery.
• Lead, train, and motivate a diverse team of operational staff, including front-of-house and technical personnel.
• Develop and manage operational budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and profitability.
• Implement and enforce health, safety, and emergency procedures throughout the venue.
• Liaise with clients, promoters, and stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure satisfaction.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in venue management or operations, preferably in event spaces.
• Proven experience in managing operational budgets and staff teams.
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and risk management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model, managing on-site responsibilities and remote strategic tasks.
• Experience with event technical requirements (AV, lighting, staging) is a plus.
