About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and visionary VFX Supervisor to lead their visual effects team in Leeds . This crucial role demands a blend of artistic sensibility, technical expertise, and strong leadership to guide the creation of stunning visual effects for major film and television productions. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire VFX pipeline, from conceptualization and pre-visualization through to final compositing, ensuring the highest standards of quality and seamless integration with live-action footage. This is an exceptional opportunity to shape the visual narrative of ambitious projects and mentor a talented team of VFX artists.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with directors and producers to define the visual style and technical requirements for all VFX shots.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the VFX department, including resource allocation, scheduling, and budget tracking.
- Oversee the work of the VFX team, providing creative direction and technical guidance to artists across various disciplines (modeling, animation, texturing, compositing).
- Ensure seamless integration of CG elements with live-action plates, maintaining continuity and photographic realism.
- Review work in progress, provide constructive feedback, and approve final shots.
- Liaise with clients and external vendors to manage expectations and ensure project delivery on time and within budget.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in VFX technology and techniques relevant to Leeds productions.
Requirements
- Extensive experience as a VFX Supervisor or senior VFX artist in film or television, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- In-depth knowledge of 3D software (e.g., Maya, Houdini), compositing software (e.g., Nuke), and rendering engines.
- Proven ability to manage large teams, complex pipelines, and demanding schedules.
- Excellent understanding of cinematography, lighting, color theory, and composition.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make critical creative and technical decisions under pressure.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, comfortable liaising with clients and stakeholders in Leeds .
